The Wine Bar GVL Has Been Waiting For

Open just a little over a week, and I can already confidently say that we will be regulars at Foxcroft Wine Co.  We were lucky to check it out for a little preview night a couple weeks ago and our expectations were greatly exceeded. I am no food and wine connoisseur but we love to try new places around Greenville and supporting local.

First of all, I don’t discriminate with my wines…I pretty much like it all…red, white, rosé, and bubbles.  We were greeted at the door with a delicious sparkling Rosé and we proceeded to walk around and check the place out.

Their retail wines are really well organized and easy to find.  They had SO many bottles that we love and keep in stock at our house…as well as bottles that are on my wish list!

To be honest, I kind of expected good wine, accompanied with some mediocre apps, but let me tell you, their food HIGHLY exceeded our expectations.  Nelson and I both loved every single thing we tried.

Here are some of our favorites.

These Beef Sliders were amazing.  Ground hanger steak topped with bacon jam and gruyere…what’s not to love? We also got the Roasted Oysters, which was a different and tasty twist on Oyster Rockefeller.

Seared Scallops with farro and cherry tomatoes

Caramelized Brussel Sprouts:  these were some of the best brussel sprouts I have ever eaten.  They were prepared so uniquely with butternut squash, nuts, and soy-chili glaze.  Seriously, talking about them makes me CRAVE them.

Famous Doughnuts:  sugar dusted with chocolate and salted caramel dipping sauces. Yep, they are as good as they sound and look.

Foxcroft has such a cozy wine-cellar like space, that is laid back and perfect for happy hour with the girls, or an easy date-night!  Wine, delicious food, and a great atmosphere…you don’t have to persuade me to return!

Foxcroft Wine Co. is located in the old Brazwell’s space on Main St., downtown Greenville.  Check it out – you will not be disappointed.
