A recap of the rest of our fun weekend. A Saturday full of celebrating a special birthday. And a Sunday of church and brunch…yet again. Our weekends seem to be pretty predictable lately, but I love it.
Saturday: The Puppy Pawty
Saturday afternoon, one of our best friend’s had their 1st birthday PAWTY with a sweet puppy theme. The birthday boy, Grady (“Lil’ G), had the best time, as did Crawford and “Big G”, and many of Grady’s friends and family.
So, the best way to plan a birthday party is to decide on your theme EARLY, so that whenever you go to the following: Target, Marshall’s, Wilson’s or T.J.Maxx you can score some decor for the party. This is what my friend Katherine did and she found some of the perfect items for the puppy theme. The theme was especially fitting, considering the birthday boy loves dogs. Seriously, they are the best way to get this sweet boy to smile or giggle. The Puppy Pawty was perfect for this ONE year old!
The Decor
I made these signs for the party and Katherine made the adorable doghouse.
Katherine found this adorable bucket and signs below, at T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s! So cute and perfect for the theme!

The birthday boy and his friends had the sweetest little puppy ears to wear for the party as well! (see more of them below)
The Treats
The cupcakes and smash cake were prepared by The Bakery off Augusta, and if you haven’t had anything from this bakery, you NEED to go. I honestly don’t even like cake, but their cake is delicious! The adorable cookies were made by a friend we went to college with, Betsi Taylor. It seriously amazes me that people can be this accurate with icing! They were the cutest and very yummy! She currently lives in Myrtle Beach. Send her a FB message if you are interested in some cookies!
I always love these “moments” for 1st birthdays. I’m pretty sure I have a similar picture of both of my boys in front of their smash cakes, but Grady did end up enjoying it A LOT!
Big G enjoying Lil G’s birthday chair for a moment. 🙂
It was definitely a successful pawty!
Sunday: What I Wore & What We Ate
After church, we had brunch for the first time at GB&D (Golden Brown & Delicious), and it is definitely one of my new favorite Sunday spots.
The Burger & fries – simple & amazing!
Dessert Waffle: cream cheese, pistachio, strawberries, chocolate, mint, honey & granola. YUUUMMMM! Seriously…out of this world good!
Pom-Poms: my favorite new detail
English Factory Dress (no longer available, but more fun options below) | Sunglasses (yep, the $12 ones again…on repeat) | VSA Necklace | BR Wedges (old..similar below)
I LOVE the simple embroidery and little pom-poms on this dress!
Good black wedges/heels can be hard to find, but here are some of my favorites!
Cora block heel (my fave heels…in black!)
Seriously- these heels are so easy and comfortable…and inexpensive! You will not regret it!
Some other English Factory Favorites:
I am a sucker for a top & bottom set, and I love this scallop detail!

I need this in this color AND the black! Love it!
LOVE this lightweight sweatshirt! Perfect for cool, summer nights, or chill nights at the house.
J.Crew has the best cover-ups!
Get you some fun pom-poms! Just don’t let your toddler tug on them! 😉
Happy Wednesday!!
