Asheville Part 1

Let me just preface this with the fact that my husband is a saint for allowing me to get away 2 weekends in a row, while he stayed home and kept our kids alive and safe.  This weekend, he at least had the company of more dads and more little boys, which may have been slightly chaotic, but I am oh so thankful.

We started the weekend out with a sister’s spa day at Grove Park Inn Spa.  I haven’t been to the spa here in YEARS, and if you have never been, it is hands down worth it!  When you book a spa appointment at the GPI, you then have access to the spa and all of its amenities for the remainder of the day.  I enjoyed a 50 minute delightful classic massage and then relaxed by the pool, and took a dip in the exhilarating contrast pools (yes, dipped in 60 degree water. It’s definitely a shock to the system…but also, kind of feels so good!)

Oh, yes, and I definitely enjoyed a glass of prosecco out on the beautiful patio.

Friday night, we had dinner at one of my Asheville favorites, The Admiral.  This restaurant is very modest to the eye, but the food is outstanding, and has a cool, relaxed vibe on the inside.

My favorites were the Smoky Mountain Goat Cheese, the Roasted Beets, the Blackened Sea Scallops, the Shrimp Okonomiyaki, and of course the Peanut Butter Semifreddo dessert.

After dinner, we headed to Sovereign Remedies for 1 drink …

(I loved the warm and vintage feel of this bar)

…and then to Nightbell. Our drinks were delicious here!

Persephone’s Sin {vodka, orange, pomegranate-rosemary, lemon, amaro montenegro}

The “spicy” girls got the Veracruz and loved it as well!

And we were in bed by midnight, so that we could do it all over again on Saturday…or at least everything but the spa, unfortunately!
