Our Go-To Spots for GVL Date Night

We are very fortunate to have a random, but appreciative (and always needed) mid-week date night most every Wednesday night. We LOVE good food and love eating out. We also love to cook, and we still do a decent amount, but truly after having 2 children, we just really want to go out and enjoy a date night together and not worry about cooking and cleaning up. Every now and then, we will stay in and relax, but for the most part, we love to get out and explore our amazing city and the awesome restaurants that it has to offer!

Especially now that it is Spring, I want to go out and enjoy a nice cocktail and meal outside with my boo and be home and in bed by 9pm. Haha.

We have A LOT of favorites and most of these can be pretty casual. So, here ya go!

  • Jianna (Italian) – Sitting on the patio on a beautiful Spring night is literally a dream. Always delicious pasta and wine. An all-time favorite. And love snagging a seat at the bar too!
  • The Anchorage (American – “foodie”) – One of my favorite atmospheres. And I shy away from so many item descriptions on the menu, but have NEVER tasted anything I didn’t like. The food is phenomenal!
  • Trattoria Georgio (Italian) – Best traditional Italian in Greenville. Get the Bolognese! Only do 2 seatings: 6pm and 8pm, reservation only, but so worth it!
  • Trappe Door (Belgian)- Honestly I save this one for the Fall/Winter, because it is underground, dark and super cozy. They have a great beer selection and a variety of Belgian cuisine. We love their burger specials, mussels, and french fries!
  • Pomegranate (Persian) – Another great patio, good wine, a delicious pomegranate margarita, and cranberry rice. Enough said.
  • Basil (Thai) – This was our favorite Thai when we lived in Charleston and now our favorite Thai here in Greenville. I used to stick to the tried and true, Pad Thai, but have recently branched out to Basil Chicken and Pad Woon Sen and WHOA – so good! Nelson loves the Pad Prik (fitting..I know..haha)
  • GB&D (American) – Definitely one of my favorite burgers in Greenville. They also have a fun and interesting menu!
  • Fork & Plough (Farm to Table) – We love sitting at the bar at F&P and ordering a bunch of different plates and sharing. Great wine & food! And not downtown (which can be a plus sometimes when worried about parking), located in Overbrook.
  • The Bohemian (American) – We used to mainly just do Sunday brunch here, but honestly they have stepped up their dinner game and have great daily specials that are hard to pass up.
  • North Hampton Wine Bar (American) – Another one of my favorite burgers in Greenville. I also love their salads and Grilled French Brie!
  • Foxcroft Wines (Wine Bar) – We love going and sharing the small bites. My favorites are the Brussel Sprouts, Three Cheese Flat Bread, and the Beef Sliders. And obviously the wine selection is amazing.
  • Tako Sushi- Just like it sounds, sushi and Mexican. Not a normal combination, but honestly quite good together. We usually get chips and queso and then order a few sushi rolls.
  • Otto Izakaya (Asian Fusion) – I love anything with their spicy tuna.
  • And last but not least…we always love a beer from Community Tap and grabbing a bite from their food truck of the night.

There are also a lot of other great options that are “kid-friendly”, such as Willy Taco, Sidewall Pizza, Bad Daddy’s, Moe’s BBQ, etc…but we try to branch out to places that we know we can’t take our rowdy boys.

Hope this list helps and inspires you to get out for a date night with your boo or your friends 😉 I’m always down for either!

XO
