Sister Love & Easter Recap

We had a busy and fun weekend with Easter and my sister’s birthday on Sunday!  If you know me, you know that I LOVE birthdays, and celebrations, and surprises, galore! And not just for myself, but maybe even more so for others.  I LOVE picking out gifts and planning a birthday dinner/celebration.  Simply because we all deserve to feel special on a regular basis, but ESPECIALLY on our birthdays.  So, if you are one that doesn’t like to make a big deal out of it, and I do…I’m just gonna go ahead and apologize.  I will probably hug you and pry all of your birthday plans out of you, because I think it should be a day to be excited and celebrated.

Our oldest sister came into town for the weekend from Atlanta to celebrate and it is so, so much fun when we all get to be together!  When I was little, I definitely did not cherish sisterhood like I do now.  We fought a good bit when we were younger or didn’t even acknowledge that each other existed..haha.  However, once we were in our college years, we became the best of friends and I feel we get closer and closer each year.  We are bound together for life and honestly, we just get each other.  And in a world that can be so complicated and broken, that means alot.  I thank God that he blessed with such genuine and caring sisters that I know that I can always count on to make me laugh, hold me when I need a good cry, or make me feel special.  When we are together we laugh so hard we cry.  I love them so much and am so thankful for them each and every day.  So, on Meredith’s birthday, I wanted her to feel just that.  Special and loved.

Thankfully, we have a good bit in common and like to do the same things, so we started out our Saturday with one of our favorites, working out (yes, I realize that may sound odd to some, but it’s fun to be able to work out together!)  It was a great way to start the day!

Then, we hit up Village Grind for coffee and a pastry!  If you haven’t had this morning bun from the Bake Room here in Greenville, you are missing out! They have them frequently at Village Grind and Methodical.  They are melt in your mouth good!

Saturday afternoon, we grabbed lunch at Tipsy Taco and got our nails done.   For dinner, we went to my sister’s all time favorite Greenville restaurant, Pomegranate On Main!  Even if you don’t think you like “Persian Cuisine”, you probably do.  It is so good! We have had many things on the menu, but our absolute favorite thing is the Tenderloin Torsh and Koobideh (always with cranberry rice)!  You will not regret it.  So yummy and large enough to split!  Their signature pomegranate cocktails are also delicious!

my outfit details:  Marie Oliver peplum from Monkee’s // Leather Jacket // Layering Necklaces // Frame Jeans (I snagged these jeans in the Shopbop sale and I am OBSESSED! The high-rise fit and skinny ankle are SO good!

I also love the birthday girl’s shirt (in the middle) from Old Navy! Such a versatile top you could wear out in the Spring or dress up for work!

Saturday was the MOST beautiful day! Please stay, Spring!

After dinner, we headed to bowl at Stone Pin Company.  Bowling truly has become one of my new hobbies.  Such a fun way to be out with friends, socialize and drink (or even grab dinner!)  If you haven’t been, it’s definitely a great spot to go for a date night or with a bunch of friends!

Easter Sunday is such a special day!  I have always loved the holiday and the reason we celebrate, but as we raise our children and they learn about God and his son, Jesus, and how he sacrificed for us, Easter is becoming even more sweet than I ever possibly imagined.  Such a beautiful day to celebrate our risen King, surrounded by family and friends!

Playing the Easter Bunny is pretty fun too!  Thanks to Easter, we will probably end up with 30 Jellycat Bunnies by the time the boys are 10 years old!  Other than that, their Easter “buckets” are filled with some practical things as well, such as chapstick, band-aids, gardening tools, a few things from the Target dollar section, and Swim suits I had already bought them anyways for Summer!

My new light blue Felt Letter Board from Felt Like Sharing is perfect for Spring!

My Easter Outfit:  Skirt  // Basic Cami (that you NEED in every color) // Sunnies // Necklace // Shoes (these shoes were definitely a splurge, but in the best way! They are so, so comfortable, classic, and go with everything!)

I am so thankful for this day to celebrate and for these boys in my life!  Feeling super blessed and grateful going into this week!  Praying I can hang on to these feelings and not letting the feelings of this world creep in! Hope you all had a WONDERFUL weekend and a blessed Easter!
