Initially I had planned for a “fashion” post this Monday morning, but our Sunday was too fun not to share. This post is mainly for those of you in the Upstate. With Fall comes great weather (even if it is still 90 degrees daily) and time to be outdoors, and the Poes get excited about some hiking. On Sunday, we spontaneously (shocker, I know…) decided to go on our 1st hike of the season. We have always enjoyed getting out in the woods and honestly, it is an activity that is even better with kids…yes, much more painful and difficult, but overall, better. I have a love/hate relationship with hiking. I truly do love to get away, disconnected, and out in nature, but I’ll say it was much more enjoyable when my husband was the ONLY one carrying a child in a pack. I didn’t intend on our “little hike” to be my “workout” this Sunday, but it definitely ended up being just that, and I will probably be feeling it tomorrow. Carrying a 25 lb toddler on your back up a mountain is no easy task, but it didn’t take away from our fun.

My family didn’t hike growing up, but it has become a sweet memory and regular activity that we enjoy with our boys. Hopefully it is an activity that they will continue to love as they get older…and we no longer have to carry them in the packs! They had a blast today riding on our backs, bouncing up the mountain and viewing the beautiful Falls.
Rainbow Falls is absolutely beautiful and a great little spot for a picnic!
Side note and my 1 “fashion tip” for this post: So, I have always loved the look of Trucker hats, but I have a TINY head, so honestly they look kind of ridiculous on me (but I try to sport them anyways..haha). However, recently, I tried on a KIDS size and realized that it actually fit me PERFECTLY and didn’t swallow my noggin’. So this Patagonia Kids Trucker hat is my new fave 🙂 Of course I could find something for myself while shopping for the boys at Vann & Liv. If you have a head on the smaller side…check out the kids hats!
Our hike was a quick 40 minute drive up from Greenville to Rainbow Falls at Jones Gap State Park. Go to their website to check out all the fun stuff to do while visiting the park.
