I use the phrase “weekend” lightly because I feel like even though we had to work Wednesday thru Friday, we kind of tried to act like we were still on vacation and Friday rolled around real quick! Gotta love a nice, long holiday! Who knew that so many people took off and closed the entire week of the 4th! I’m not complaining though and I’m down. So, let’s just pretend that our “weekend” started on Wednesday, the day after the 4th, since Nelson and I were lucky enough to get a kid-free date night as the kids were hanging out with the grandparents.
HUMP DAY DATE NIGHT

We went to Basil again, and made ourselves try something different, other than our staple Pad Thai and Pad Prik, 2 of our absolute favorite dishes there. After Wednesday, I would definitely say that you can’t really go wrong at Basil. I got the Pad-See-Eu with Tofu and Nelson went with the Massaman Curry with Chicken. I loved the wide noodles and the broccoli in the Pad-See-Eu, plus it is a very filling dish, so I had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day!
FROSÉ
I FINALLY tried Frosé for the 1st time for lunch on Friday at Happy & Hale. It was absolutely delicious, as expected, and went very well with my Thai Chicken Crunch salad. Just giving me yet another reason to lunch at Happy & Hale…as if I needed one.
FIRST FRIDAYS
For dinner Friday night we took the boys out to First Fridays at The Station in the Village of West Greenville. If you haven’t been, check it out. There are some amazing artists out there, and the hot dogs this Friday from Resident Dogs were a huge bonus. Unfortunately, my sweet 18 month old tantrumy toddler did not allow us to stay but about 20 minutes, but we tried.
Don’t let this sweet face fool you. And also, if you saw us there….you know. Sorry. 
BOWLING
I have a new hobby. Bowling. Seriously…now that Stone Pin Company is in our backyard, I kind of have a craving to go every single weekend. We went Friday night for the second time and had a blast…and I must say, I am improving my game, so that always helps! Nelson claims I will never beat him, and I am up for the challenge!
I have a new (to me), light & refreshing drink too. Grapefruit vodka, soda, with a splash of cranberry and lime.

I know, I seriously need Rompaholics Anonymous. But this comfy and casual romper was a no-brainer. Easy to dress up or down.
Jean shorts are literally my uniform in the Summer and these are so soft and comfortable.
I had been eyeing these jeans, but it is really difficult for me to even think about buying jeans in the Summer, since I am so hot natured. I probably won’t wear jeans again until October, but this deal was too good to pass up and these jeans fit amazing! (These look black in this picture, but they are a deep navy, called Blue Mercy)
ICE CREAM DATE
After naps on Saturday (for the boys, not us, unfortunately), we headed to Sidewall for the Ice Cream of the Day! Saturday’s flavor was Cake Batter Cookies & Cream, AND they still had some Blueberry Cheesecake left over from Friday, so naturally, we got both! Their ice cream is homemade and so delicious!
DATE NIGHT
Saturday night, we planned a date night since Nelson is out of town all week. We were supposed to use our gift card to The Anchorage, but forgot it at home (so typical). So, since we were already at Hall’s Chophouse meeting friends for a drink, we decided to stay at the bar for dinner…no complaints here. One of my all-time favorite salads and burgers…and cocktails!

One of the best burgers in Greenville. In my defense, we split the burger. I promise I don’t eat hot dogs and hamburgers every weekend! haha…but this weekend, I did.
Now, time to RESET, and start a fresh and full, new week! It’s a busy one, but it’s so important to head into the week with a positive vibe…and to feel refreshed and re-energized if possible.
